Crafting Your Proposal

We’re looking for ideas that educate, inform, and offer real value to CFMA members — not sales pitches. Articles must be practical, unbiased, and aligned with the magazine’s mission: to support construction financial professionals through actionable insight.

New to CFMA Building Profits? Browse a recent issue to get a feel for our voice, audience, and the types of topics we cover.

When you're ready, submit your proposal. Our editorial team carefully reviews each submission, which may take a few weeks — feel free to reach out for a status update.

Writing & Submission Guidelines

Tips for Drafting Your Article:

  • Include case studies, specific examples, and visuals like graphs, charts, or checklists.
  • Visuals should be submitted in .TIF, .EPS, .JPEG, Excel, or PowerPoint format.
  • All direct quotes, paraphrased text, and adapted content (from articles, websites, legislation, etc.) must be properly cited, including charts and graphs.

Once submitted, your article will be edited for tone and style. You’ll have 3–5 days to review and respond to edits.

After your revisions are received, the article will undergo third-party review to ensure accuracy and completeness. You’ll have the chance to address any final questions before publication.
