Paul Sponcia is both a for-profit commercial sector and a not-for-profit social sector entrepreneur, who resides and works in Knoxville, TN. Paul’s background includes over 30 years of start-up, entrepreneurial, business leadership, not-for-profit, information technology, consulting, and executive experience.
The IT Company (www.theitco.net), a local IT services company Paul joined what was then CSK Technologies, as a principal and CEO, to take over the leadership of the organization and to develop and execute on a shared vision to re-birth the organization, infuse a corporate culture around its mission of Happy Customers with the plan to grow the company revenues, grow profits and to architect and orchestrate a regional expansion plan. Since that time revenues have grown to more than 7M annually, projected to exceed 8M in 2024, with a 900% increase in monthly recurring revenue. Paul and his partners have also completed four (4) acquisitions, including the acquisition of the region’s top data center, Digital Crossing Networks, from local technology incubator Tech2020 and local Managed IT Services provider RTL Technologies. In 2015 Digital Crossing Networks was sold to allow Paul and his team to focus on growing The IT Company brand.
Paul was recognized in 2007 in the inaugural class as one of the Knoxville regions top 40 under 40 as honored by the Knoxville business journal. In 2013 Paul was a finalist for the prestigious Pinnacle Award for Young Entrepreneur of the Year presented by the Chamber of Commerce. In 2022-23 Paul was a member of the prestigious Leadership Knoxville Class of ’23 among 53 other leaders in the Knoxville area. Paul has served on various boards and peer groups through the years including, Second Harvest Foodbank, EO of Knoxville, TruMethods, The Pellissippi State Foundation and Emerald Youth. He currently serves on the IT and Facilities Committee for Emerald Youth, the Membership Chair on the Executive Committee for the Pellissippi State Foundation and is the incoming Team Captain for his Winner Circle to TruMethods Peer Group.
Paul has been a frequent speaker about information technology, healthcare IT, HIPAA HITECH ACT, business growth, leadership, talent and culture development.
Paul was born in Tennessee, raised on the Gulf Coast of Florida and currently resides in Knoxville, TN. He is married to his wife of ten (10) years Alexa and is the father of five children.
